We are planning four workshops for ENCODS 2022. Two of them will be defined by the attendees in the application form.
The other two workshops will be:
- Credibility in neuroscience: scientific integrity, reproducibility, and open science
- Mental Health and work from home strategies
Credibility in neuroscience: scientific integrity, reproducibility, and open science
Credible neuroscience is a robust, reliable, and replicable science. Credibility is based on integrity which in turn refers to professional values and practices that ensure honest and rigorous research. In addition, reproducibility is strengthening scientific evidence making it more objective. On the other hand, open science aims to create a system in which research is more transparent, inclusive, and democratic. As young researchers, we believe those are important features to change and improve the scientific landscape we are working in. This workshop aims to provide the attendants with the tools and the attitude necessary for building up a credible and incredible research career.
Mental Health and work from home strategies
Most Ph.D. candidates are aware of the mental health crisis in Academia. However, this subject is becoming less of a taboo and there is an increase in initiatives promoting help and counseling services. The covid pandemic has made the situation worse. Remote work is becoming permanent affecting well-being as well as the quality of the work itself. This workshop aims to give attendants suggestions and to make them aware of strategies that can improve work efficiency and mental health.
