FENS believes in equal opportunities and inclusive science and is convinced that individual differences should never constitute a barrier to scientific excellence. As such, FENS strives to ensure that all of its activities are as inclusive and representative of the neuroscience community as possible.

To this aim, and together with its partners and member societies, FENS works to ensure increased access to its activities, through the implementation of grant programmes for FENS and partner meetings and the organisation of regular online events.

In addition to applying these principles to its activities, FENS is also working with its partners to increase diversity across all neuroscience domains through the ALBA Network, launched in 2019 under the impetus of Prof. Carmen Sandi, FENS President 2018-2020.
