How to login to the FENS website?

FENS members profile

You can use:

  • FENS member ID
  • ORCID ID

FENS members receive an automated email from FENS containing their FENS Member ID and provisional password. You can access and edit your member profile in the FENS database by using either your unique FENS member ID (example: FENS00001), your email address or your ORCID ID and your password.

If it is the first time you access the FENS website, please confirm your account and change your password.

If you have forgotten your account details, these can be retrieved automatically by clicking on “Forgotten password”.

Once logged in, you can start taking advantage of your FENS membership!

FENS non-members profile

You can use:

  • Email address
  • ORCID ID

Non members  have access to a user profile on the FENS website, which can be used to manage applications to FENS activities, job and/or award postings. To create a profile, just click on “Register”. You can access and edit your profile by using your email address or ORCID ID and password.

To login with your ORCID ID, you need first to create a user account at the FENS website

Set up your ORCID profile

Before trying to log in with your ORCID ID, please check the following has been set up in your ORCID profile:

  • Give permission to share your email address with trusted parties in your ORCID account settings.
  • This can be set in your ORCID “account settings”, by going to “email and notification preferences” and changing the padlock to the orange icon (see screenshot below).
  • Make sure your email address is verified in ORCID.
  • Make sure your ORCID email address matches your FENS account email address.

Which data is stored by FENS?

Members: As a member of one or more of the 44 FENS member societies or an individual FENS member, you are automatically registered by FENS under a unique FENS member ID, which enables your preferential access to the FENS member benefits.

Non members: As a non member, FENS stores information to manage applications to activities or job and award postings.

You can access your profile and change your preferences at any time, including modifying your personal data or choosing to appear in the member directory (FENS members). Further information about how we store your data can be found in our Terms of Use.

Communication settings

If you would like to modify your communication settings with FENS, you can change your preferences directly by accessing your profile (click on “Login” in the top right corner). If you wish to unsubscribe from any of our messaging, you can also click on the ‘unsubscribe’ button included in all of our communications.

If you require any assistance to modify your communication settings or if you would like to be permanently removed from the FENS database, you can contact the FENS office at any time: office@fens.org.

FENS members, please be aware that once removed from the FENS member database, you will lose your membership with FENS and will not be able to take advantage of your member benefits.

Where is your data stored?

Our cloud servers are hosted in Europe, protected and regularly tested and re-evaluated. In addition, access to our offices is secure. Only authorised employees have access to private data and they are subject to strict confidentiality obligations.
