ENCODS 2018 will take place at Akademie Berlin-Schmöckwitz, right outside Berlin’s busy center, to create a retreat-like atmosphere in a welcoming, green environment. The meeting is designed to be all-inclusive, thus allowing participants and speakers to concentrate their full energy and attention on the main purpose of ENCODS: getting together to discuss, interact and learn from each other!

How to get there

For a general overview check out our map!

Arrival

In the morning of July 5 (7:30-9:15), a shuttle service will be in place between the train station Berlin-Grünau and the conference hotel Akademie Berlin-Schmöckwitz.

How to get to Berlin-Grünau train station:

  • 40 mins train ride from Berlin main station
  • 20 mins train ride (S8, S85) from Berlin Ostkreuz
  • 20 mins bus ride (163) from Berlin Schönefeld airport (SXF)

To check out connections, use either Google maps or the website of the local public transport.

Since the conference starts early we highly recommend to arrive in Berlin already the day before, on July 4. In our map we added a few suggestions on well-located hostels (w.r.t reaching the conference venue), but obviously feel free to check out other options throughout Berlin’s city center! If you are interested in staying at the conference hotel already on July 4 (69 € single, 49.50 € double room), please contact us via email and we will notify you about the availability of rooms by the end of April.

Should you still decide to arrive on July 5, we highly recommend to fly to Berlin Schönefeld airport (SXF) and not Berlin-Tegel airport (TXL), which is very far from the conference venue.

Departure

In the morning of July 7 (11:00-13:00), a shuttle will again take you to the train station Berlin-Grünau. If you need to leave earlier, regular busses leave every hour to the train station Zeuthen.
