leana Hanganu-Opatz and Tara Spires-Jones awarded as outstanding young leaders in the field of neuroscience.

Congratulations to Ileana Hanganu-Opatz, University of Hamburg and Tara Spires-Jones, University of Edinburgh, who have been awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant, which rewards outstanding young leaders in their field seeking to consolidate their independence. 

A total of 91 awards have been distributed in the life science field, 14 of which addressed neuroscience questions. Topics include genetics of epilepsy (S. Baulac, France), brain computer interfaces (S. Ben Hamed,France), spinal cord injury (G. Courtine, Switzerland), circuits of expectation (J. De la Rocha, Spain), ALS (E. Kabashi, France), creativity and sleep (P. Lewis, UK), pain (T. Nevian, Switzerland), multisensory perception (J. Poulet, Germany), brain simulations (P Ritter, Germany), visual repair (B. Rozsa, Hungary), 3D navigation (N. Ulanovsky, Israel), and large scale network imaging (A. Vaziri, Austria).
