The EJN Associate Managing Editor position is open. This role will take sole responsibility for the running of the EJN editorial office. The successful candidate will work with the Journal Publishing Manager and Editors-in-Chief to identify appropriate opportunities and formulate strategic development plans, implementing new services, policy changes or other new initiatives as agreed.They will act as first point of contact and liaise with Editors, Reviewers, Production Editors and Journal Publishing Managers to ensure the smooth running of the journal from submission of content to final publication.
Selection criteria
- Experience of working in an office and completing administrative tasks
- A familiarity with journal publishing processes and issues
- Experience of managing own workload and an ability to multi-task
- Education to degree level, a higher degree in Neuroscience would be desirable but is not essential
- Experience of Microsoft Office
- Good communication skills
- Experience of peer review management or experience of working with academic journals would be desirable, as would working knowledge of electronic editorial office systems.
