Prof. Barry Everitt nominated as candidate for president-elect of SfN

Current FENS president, Prof. Barry Everitt from the University of Cambridge, UK, has been announced as a candidate for the position of president-elect of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) in elections that started on Monday 14th May 2018.

Prof. Everitt, who will be replaced as FENS president by Prof. Carmen Sandi from Lausanne after the FENS Forum in Berlin this July, will be the first ever European-based scientist to have been nominated as president of SfN.

Secretary General of FENS, Prof. Juan Lerma expressed his great satisfaction with the candidature of Prof. Everitt, adding that this is an important sign for Europe and underlines the excellent relationship with SfN that has been further solidified under the leadership of Prof. Everitt. “The opportunity for European neuroscience to have a European scientist in the SfN leadership represents a historic milestone. I hope that we all support this candidacy”, he added.

European and global SfN members will cast their votes by 1st June 2018.
