The Eric Kandel Young Neuroscientists Prize is the most prestigious award for the next generation of top neuroscientists in Europe. The prize is announced every two years by the Charitable Hertie Foundation and the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS). Edvard Moser, member of the selection committee and newly-elected Nobel laureate 2014, gave a prompt reply “I would be happy to be on the jury!“ when he was asked for his participation – this was only two days after the publication of the Nobel laureates for medicine 2014. Next year, the Kandel Prize will be handed by Eric Kandel personally at the Paulskirche in Frankfurt on the Main (Germany). The deadline for the nomination of excellent European neuroscientists under the age of 40 ends on 1 November 2014.
