“During my term, I would like to ensure representation of all neuroscientific disciplines at our meetings, applying special actions to incorporate underrepresented fields. Another important focus will be promoting gender equality and reinforcing networks and activities for young investigators.”

I am thrilled to be presiding over FENS for the next two years. This is an exceptional moment for FENS. Neuroscience is booming, as we experienced over the last few days at the extremely successful Forum held in Berlin. The quality of events and individuals’ excitement went beyond our already very high expectations at this 11th FENS biennial Forum. This is very motivating and inspires us to maintain our commitment to work on all FENS activities, from the promotion of neuroscientific research and education, to outreach and advocacy.

During my term, I would like to ensure representation of all neuroscientific disciplines at our meetings, applying special actions to incorporate underrepresented fields. Another important focus will be promoting gender equality and reinforcing networks and activities for young investigators. I feel privileged to be sharing these efforts with Eero Castren, as Secretary General, the new leadership team and the extraordinary members of the FENS office.

I would like to encourage all neuroscientists in Europe to participate and become members of their national societies and FENS. Keep connected and join us at the upcoming FENS Regional Meeting in Belgrade in 2019 and in Glasgow in 2020!
