FENS Forum 2016 awarded “Conference of the year”

On Wednesday, 19 April 2017, the FENS Forum of Neuroscience 2016 was awarded ‘Congress of the Year 2016’ at the annual Congress and Event Award celebrated at the Copenhagen City Hall.

In the award statement, the Forum’s unique way of presenting a strong academic and highly international programme in an unconventional and innovative way was particularly highlighted:

The Forum has set new standards for the concept of hosting, thanks to its combination of a strong scientific programme with outreach events and activities. The host society and the local committee were able to involve the entire city with a complex subject in an engaging way

​The FENS Forum is Europe’s preeminent neuroscience meeting, promoting exchange of knowledge and neuroscience research. The event is a meeting point for the world’s top experts, mid-career scientists, post-docs and students.

Next year FENS will celebrate its 20th anniversary at the FENS Forum of Neuroscience in Berlin 7-11 July 2017, where scientists from all over the world will to celebrate and interact.

Founded in 1998 at the first Forum of European Neuroscience, the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) is the main organisation for neuroscience in Europe. FENS currently represents 43 European national and single discipline neuroscience societies with close to 23,000 member scientists from 33 European countries.
