FENS welcomes the new leadership for the years 2016 -2018, elected at the 10th FENS Forum of Neuroscience in Copenhagen.

FENS welcomes the new leadership for the years 2016 -2018, elected at the 10th FENS Forum of Neuroscience in Copenhagen.

New president of FENS is Professor Barry Everitt FRS, FMedSci, Department of Psychology at the University of Cambridge (UK), and Provost of the Gates Cambridge Trust, University of Cambridge.  As a highly recognised and renowned neuroscientist, Barry Everitt has served FENS in many ways over the years, including as chair of the first FENS Forum programme committee (1998-2000) and as past editor in chief of the FENS journal, EJN. 

Professor Everitt replaces Professor Monica Di Luca who stepped down following the conclusion of her two-year term at the end of the FENS Forum in July 2016. Monica Di Luca will continue in the FENS advisory committee as past president.

The new secretary-general of FENS is Juan Lerma, Research Professor and Director of the CSIC-UMH Instituto de Neurociencias in Alicante (Spain).  Juan Lerma replaces professor Marianne Amalric, Laboratorie de Neurosciences Cognitives, Unversity of Marseille, France.
