FENS EJN Award 2012 granted

The FENS EJN Award is a biennal prize given in recognition of outstanding scientific work in all areas of neuroscience. The award is a personal prize of £10,000, sponsored by Wiley-Blackwell (publishers of EJN).

We are pleased to announce that Barry Everitt, Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge and Master of Downing College, is the 2012 winner of the FENS EJN Award.

Barry Everitt’s research has contributed immensely to our understanding of the neural mechanisms of reward mechanisms, drug-seeking behavior and relapse. Dr. Everitt’s work has had a tremendous impact on the field as indicated, for example, that he is among the world’s 100 most highly cited neuroscientists.

Barry Everitt will be honored at the occasion of a special lecture to be given by the awardee at the 2012 FENS Forum of Neuroscience in Barcelona (July 14-18, 2012).
