The laureates of the 2019 call for History Online Projects, celebrating for the first time the global history of neuroscience, have been announced. Find out more about the selected projects here and make sure to see them on display at the FENS Forum 2020.
FENS has the pleasure to announce the winners of the 2019 call for History Online Projects!
This year, for the first time, the focus was on celebrating the global history of neuroscience. Nine projects out of the twenty-six submitted were selected.
The awardees will prepare a poster on their project to be displayed at the History Corner at the FENS Forum 2020.
The awarded projects are listed below in alphabetical order by last name of the awardee:
1. Dr. Stefano Canali, Italy – The history of Neuroscience and Cognitive Sciences in Italy
2. Prof. Julita Czarkowska-Bauch, Poland – Wroclaw University neuroanatomical exhibition: brain development and its pathology
3. Dr. Sonia Horn, Austria – Das Leben ist ein Galvanischer Prozess (Life is a Galvanic Process). Neurology and Electrotherapy in late 18th and early 19th C. Vienna
4. Dr. Dinesh Ramoo, Canada – History of Neurology in India: From the Ancient to the Modern Period
5. Mr. Yim Rodriguez, Argentina – Through The Eyepiece: The Life and Works of Eduardo P. De Robertis
6. Dr. Mohamed Salama, Egypt – 200 years of Lewy Bodies
7. Mr. Luiz Henrique Santana, Brazil – Gamification and Online Replication of Ebbinghaus (1885) Memory Experiments
8. Dr. Behnam Vafadari, Germany – History of neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders (diagnosis and treatment) in ancient and medieval Persia
9. Mr. Hussein Youssef, Turkey – Neuroscience 7,000 years ago
