The Russian Physiological Society was created by Ivan Pavlov in St Petersburg in 1917. On the occasion of its 100 years, the society organised a scientific forum in St. Petersburg together with the Institute of Higher Nervous Activity and Neurophysiology of RAS (Russian Neuroscience Society).
This meeting lead to a long term collaboration between the History Committee and the Russian Ivan Pavlov Physiological Society. An article about the meeting written by Richard E. Brown, Zoltán Molnár, Ludmila Filaretova, Mikhail Ostrovsky, Marco Piccolino, and Lorenzo Lorusso, was published in Physiology.
