We are very happy to inform you that Corpus Curiosum (corpuscuriosum.com) is launching its 📚🧠1𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥🧠📚, happening in April 2023 [crowd shouting hysterically in excitement].
👉 WHAT? An engaging and interactive training program conformed by young researchers all over the globe with one specific goal: stimulating critical thinking in Neuroscience.
👉 HOW? Three 1h30min interactive sessions where the following topics will be discussed:
1️⃣ 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 1. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐒 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞? We will dive into the problems arising from the “seductive allure of Neuroscience”, talk about some of the most popular neuromyths that haunt us, and discuss the connection between “the brain” and “the mind” from a philosophical perspective.
2️⃣ 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 2. 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐯𝐬. 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲. We will address the current scientific culture: publish or perish, values of science, and practical issues faced by scientists.
3️⃣ 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 3. 𝐁𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲. We will present what are the main biases rooted in Neuroscience and how are those based in society but also influencing it at the same time.
