Neuroscience communication: what, how and why? Special Symposium at the FRM 2023

Event Dates: 4 May 2023

FENS symposium at the FENS Regional Meeting 2023

Organised by the FENS Communication Committee, this symposium is dedicated to training neuroscientists of all levels in understanding and tackling effective communication. It will bring together a group of experts in science communication with an academic background to empower the communicator side of fellow neuroscientists, helping them find a narrative for their science to share their research clearly and effectively. Neuroscientists will gain fresh perspectives from leading science communicators about the power of storytelling, the difficulties of filtering the details and conveying the same message in different formats, understanding the different needs of multiple audiences and the use of several communication methods and strategies, programs, and activities for science communication in formal and non-formal learning environments. They will learn about the importance of engaging with the public, policymakers and the media to share their new discoveries in an accessible, transparent, and inclusive way.
