Description:

We are seeking a talented senior scientist to lead the developments on AAV gene therapy for neurological disorders in the Genetic Therapy Accelerator Laboratory, located in the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, Department of Neurodegenerative Disease, led by Professors Sarah Tabrizi and Nick Fox, under the direction of Professor Francesco Muntoni.

You will work on building AAV gene therapeutics discovery in the neurological field and will lead planning and execution of preclinical work to advance the therapeutic AAV platform, building a portfolio of therapeutics AAV projects in the neurological field.

You must have a proven record of accomplishments in this field and the ability to build and champion this therapeutic platform within the ION academic research departments.

You will work independently designing and implementing scientific strategies relating to research and development of AAV transgenes, search for optimal vectors that could be used for different neurological conditions. You will contribute to multiple projects, either as a project team leader but also in collaboration with other researchers at the Institute of Neurology, providing key technical knowledge and making recommendations on AAV experimental strategies. You will interface across different therapeutic areas in the neuroscience field.

The post is available immediately and funded by the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology for five years.
