Description:

A four-year PhD position is available at the Department of Neuroscience of Erasmus MC in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) to work on the cellular and network neuronal mechanisms underlying tinnitus.

The aim is identify the neurons in the mouse inferior colliculus that show increased firing following sound overexposure, to characterize the changes in their cellular properties, and to test their relevance to tinnitus using operant conditioning.

Enthusiastic and motivated candidates with an MSc in Neuroscience or related fields are invited to apply. Experience with in vivo electrophysiology, in vivo two-photon imaging, optogenetics, or operant conditioning is welcome.
