The Brain Circuits and Behavior lab at IDIBAPS (Barcelona; www.braincircuitsbehavior.org) has opened  [1 PhD position or 1 Animal Research Technician position]. 

The project is part of the NIH-AEI Collaborative Research in Computational Neuroscience (CRCNS) program, that will be carried out in our lab in collaboration with Robert G. Yang (MIT) and Manuel Molano (CRM).

The tasks of the applicant will be: (1) to train rats and mice in performing simple perceptual tasks using a computer-controlled system that records and controls the behavioral apparatus. (2) Perform brain surgeries for implanting sub-cranial electrodes or cannulas. (3) Conduct the behavioral experiments during which animals brain activity will be recorded or manipulated. (4) Quantify and monitor the behavioral performance of the animals using custom-made software. Make simple reports about behavioral performance using simple data analysis programs (e.g. Excel, Python).

  • A 2-year contract to become the Lab technician of an international neuroscience research team, participating in the research activities performed in the laboratory.
