Contract Length: 4 years

City: Innsbruck, Austria

Country: Austria

Institution: Medical University of Innsbruck

The ideal candidate should have a master’s degree or equivalent in Biology, Neurobiology/Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacology or a related discipline. S/he will employ a multidisciplinary approach combining next-generation sequencing with bioinformatic tools as well as state-of-the-art, wet lab methodology (cell cultures, RT-qPCR, RNAscope, immunostainings, Western blot, ELISA, etc) supported by a combination of cutting edge functional experimental procedures (single-cell patch clamp recordings, in vivo application of formulations and behavioural testing) to elucidate the importance and function of a novel miRNA in the peripheral and central nervous system. The candidate should be experienced in molecular and cellular biology methods as well as rodent handling and behavioural experimentation. Additional experience in analysis of sequencing data and coding (Python, R) will be considered a plus. The successful applicant will join the Institute of Physiology at the Medical University of Innsbruck and will be working in a vibrant and vivid Neuroscience hub in the middle of the Alps under the supervision of Dr. Theodora Kalpachidou.
