Junior Professor of Cellular Neurobiology (Level W1)
In vivo neuronal imaging
Are you a highly qualified young postdoc at an early stage of your scientific career, i.e., up to about 3 years after finishing your PhD, who has expertise in Cellular Neurobiology and seeks to establish an independent research group? We are offering a Junior professorship to a candidate who is interested in contributing to the study of mammalian socio-emotional behaviours, and has worked on in vivo neuronal imaging (e.g., in vivo calcium imaging or in vivo electrophysiology) and its analyses or comparable techniques during the PhD and early postdoc project. As an associated PI of our interdisciplinary Graduate School “Neurobiology of socio-emotional dysfunctions” (https://www.uni-regensburg.de/research/grk-emotion/grk-home/index.html) you will be fully integrated in collaborations with other participating groups. You will also be involved in teaching animal physiology and neurobiology (B.Sc. program, preferentially in German) and in teaching neurobiology (M.Sc. program, in English).
What we expect:
- A Ph.D. degree or comparable degree in Neurobiology
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research of mammalian socio-emotional behaviour
- Experiences in in vivo imaging (e.g., electrophysiology, Ca-imaging)
- High motivation to establish a new research group
- Excellent communication and team-working skills
- Some experiences in teaching and student lab supervision
- Enthusiasm and great commitment to research and teaching
