The Laboratory for Translational Neurodegeneration Research (LTN), (PI Prof. Nadia Stefanova) at the Department of Neurology, Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria is currently looking for highly skilled and motivated individuals to work on a project aimed towards understanding the pathogenesis of multiple system atrophy (MSA), a neurodegenerative disorder related to Parkinson’s disease. The applied methodology includes behavioral testing, immunohistochemistry and histopathology, biochemical and molecular analyses. The framework and motivation of the projects can be found at

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and participate in research projects such as lab and equipment set up, data collection, data analysis, writing reports and papers, and presenting at scientific conferences
  • Participate in routine laboratory operations, such as planning and preparations for experiments, lab maintenance, and lab procedures
  • Participate in teaching assistance duties for university courses in our field

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in neuroscience, biology, medicine, or related
  • Skills in wet lab techniques and data analysis are desirable
  • Skills in report writing, a previous peer reviewed publication are desirable
  • Strong command of English is obligatory
