Description:
We offer a postdoc position for which the ultimate goal is to understand pathological pathways leading to Alzheimer disease. You will analyze Alzheimer-related pathways in primary neurons by using confocal and super-resolution microscopy. You will be responsible for preparing primary cultures of cortical and hippocampal mouse or rat neurons. You will prepare the samples by staining with appropriate antibodies and labels. Other cell biological and biochemical approaches will also be used.
We are looking for a highly motivated person that is well acquainted with basic biochemical, and cell biological techniques. Experience from cell culturing and confocal microscopy or other fluorescence microscopy technique is required. Previous experience from studies on synapse organization, protein trafficking, advanced microscopy techniques, electron microscopy, cloning, nanodelivery, neuroscience and membrane proteins is meritorious.
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant’s main supervisor, director or equivalent.
