Description:
A PhD position is available in Neuroplasticity and Regeneration – Ampatzis Lab at Karolinska Institute. Ampatzis Lab uses multidisciplinary approaches (electrophysiology, imaging, anatomy, behavior) to study how the nervous system responds to changes under physiological and pathophysiological conditions.
We seek a highly motivated, well-organized, passionate, and creative young individual interested and passionate in plasticity and regeneration of the nervous system. The studies will be carried out using the zebrafish model system.
Candidates must have a recent MSc in biology, neuroscience, biomedicine, or equivalent and a passion for regeneration research.
The advertised, fully-funded 4 years position will enable the development of an independent and competitive research profile.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A strong foundation and passion for either electrophysiological recordings or neuroanatomy and behavior, or both.
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- High level of English
Previous experience with the zebrafish model system is not expected but will be given preference.
