Description:

The Zimmermann Lab is searching for an enthusiastic PostDoc in the neuroscience field to start in March 2023.

Our research focusses on the physiology of adaptation to environmental cold exposure and how complex behavioral traits like cold avoidance and cold allodynia can be explained on a molecular level. In particular, you will conduct experiments to understand the variability of cold avoidance and comfort temperature among inbred mouse strains and between the sexes. The project is based on a haplotype mapping approach and seeks to validate gene variants which lead to low and high levels of cold avoidance and comfort temperature.

We are looking for a candidate with broad expertise in some or all of the following techniques: in vivo animal models, molecular biology, transcriptomics, cell/neuronal culture, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, electrophysiology, etc. Enjoying to work with animal models is a must.
