Post-doctoral position in Integrative Neuroscience
Position: Post-doctoral Position
Deadline: 30 November 2022
City: Marseille
Country: France
Institution: INMED Inserm U1249
Department:
Description:
We are seeking for a motivated post-doc candidate with a strong background in Neuroscience to study functional circuits for procedural learning and memory. Our scientific aim is to characterize changes in network dynamics and connectivity related to learned motor sequences and to dissect cell-specific roles in population activity, using a multi-scale approach from synapses to neurons to neuronal circuits (Fino et al., 2018, Nat Comm, Badreddine et al., 2022, Cell Reports). We combine multiphoton imaging, circuit manipulation (chemo-/optogenetics) and mapping, and patch-clamp multi-recordings in ex vivo and in vivo transgenic mouse models.
Interested candidates have a PhD degree or equivalent in Neuroscience. She/he should be highly motivated and show independent skills and strong interest in neurophysiology and system neuroscience. Prior research experience with behavioral experiments, multiphoton microscopy and/or electrophysiology will be advantageous.
The position is funded by ANR (National agency for research) and is intended to start end of 2022/beginning of 2023. Interested candidates should contact Elodie Fino (elodie.fino@inserm.fr), with a CV, contact information, a cover letter motivating the research interest and experience and two reference letters.
Our team is dynamic and motivated and is part of the Institute of Neurobiology of Méditerranée (INMED), located in the breathtaking National Park of Calanques. The institute is a really stimulating scientific environment with research groups interested in functional and structural organization of neural circuits supporting perception, action or memory in healthy or pathological context. It also provides state-of-the-art imaging and electrophysiology platforms.
