Job description
What is the brain’s algorithm for mapping space? In our lab we follow the different stations from the sensory regions to the brain’s cognitive map in the entorhinal cortex and the hippocampus in order to understand how we map our world, and what are the coordinate transformations involved in that. Our lab combines recording from large populations of neurons using neuroprobes and miniscope imaging in awake behaving mice with neuronal stimulation (chemogenetics & optogenetics), complex behavioral arenas and animal learning with cutting-edge analysis techniques. We welcome applicants from multiple disciplines, including engineering, medicine, physics & biology. As the work is interdisciplinary we do not expect students to know everything that is needed when they arrive, however we do require interest in the subject, and a strong propensity to learn new things and invest time and effort in science.
How to apply
Applicants should send a letter of application, highlighting their research interests, relevant training and experience, together with their CV, course transcripts and the contact details of references.
