Description:
The Functional Neuroimaging laboratory at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (https://www.iit.it/it/web/functional-neuroimaging), Rovereto (Italy), invites applications for a fellowship dedicated to multivariate analysis of fMRI timeseries collected in rodents. The position is ideally suited for graduates who wish to sharpen their neuro-computational skills before moving to postgraduate studies.
The Functional Neuroimaging Research line is coordinated by Alessandro Gozzi, who has extensive experience in the development and application of fMRI and other neuroimaging methods to study the brain’s functional organization in health and disease.
The Functional Neuroimaging lab is equipped with a state-of–the-art 7 Tesla MRI scanner for preclinical research and has a successful record in the implementation of advanced computational methods to describe brain network organization and dynamics in healthy and pathological conditions. For recent work relevant to this position see: Gutierrez-Barragan et al., Curr Biol (2022), and Pagani et al., Nat Comm (2021).
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where people with different backgrounds collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.
Candidates should have a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Biotechnology, Psychology, Neuroscience or a related discipline. Proven experience with computational or statistical methods for image analysis, and related software packages (e.g. Matlab, R, or others) is required. Additional experience with FSL, SPM or analogous software packages employed for fMRI preprocessing and analysis (i.e. FSL, AFNI, SPM) will be considered an asset.
