POSTDOCTORAL PROJECT IN NEUROSCIENCE

TOPIC: Modulation of cortico-basal ganglia networks in models of Parkinson´s disease (PD).

The project is part of a large collaborative research programme entitled ADAPT-PD (ADAptive and Precise Targeting of cortex-basal ganglia circuits in Parkinson´s Disease) aimed at identifying network dysfunctions in PD in order to develop therapeutic approaches based on non-invasive neuromodulation. Within this translational programme, Angela Cenci Nilsson (Lund University Basal Ganglia Pathophysiology Group) leads preclinical  studies using rodent models.

The post-doctoral fellow will be integrated in a multidisciplinary team and will have access to fully equipped research facilities. The project will include advanced behavioural analyses of rodent PD models in temporal registration with calcium imaging fiber photometry and optogenetic circuit manipulations.
