Job ID: 86617

Post-doc for 2-photon imaging and/or Neuropixels recordings in awake marmosets

Position: Post-doctoral Position

Deadline: 1 October 2022

Contract Length: 3 years

City: London

Country: Canada

Institution: University of Western Ontario

Department: Centre for Functional and Metabolic Mapping

Description:

The Laboratory for Neural Circuits and Cognitive Control of Professor Stefan Everling at the Centre for Functional and Metabolic Mapping at the Robarts Research Institute in London, Ontario, Canada, has a postdoctoral position available for high density electrophysiology and/or 2-photon calcium imaging in awake marmoset monkeys. The lab currently uses high-density neurophysiological recordings and fMRI in marmoset monkeys to study local and large-scale neural circuits that underlie the cognitive control of behaviour. We are now expanding our techniques into calcium imaging using 2-photon microscopy and photostimulation.

The position is fully funded for three years, with the potential for extending funding for 2 more years upon successful completion of initial project goals. As part of the Robarts Research Institute and the Western Institute of Neuroscience, we offer an outstanding research environment and excellent opportunities for collaborative research in visual, motor, and cognitive neuroscience.

Applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience or other relevant fields. We are particularly looking for a candidate with prior experience in neurophysiology or 2-photon imaging in rodents or primates.

Interested candidates should send their CV and names of references to Stefan Everling (severlin[at]uwo.ca).
