Description:

Project: This project is built on the unique expertise of our teams in postnatal brain development (Olivier Raineteau) and energy metabolism during neuron development (Julien Courchet) to unravel the consequences of premature brain injuries on circuits formation. This project, supported by the ANR (Project Rewired), aims at testing the hypothesis that alterations of the metabolic homeostasis during the critical period of plasticity leave a “metabolic scar”, leading to long-lasting alterations of the organization and function of neural circuits.  For more background, see Azim et al., Plos Biol 2017, Donega et al., Cell Reports 2018, Courchet et al., Nat Commun, 2018.

Environment: You will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists. The SBRI benefits from state-of-the-art research platforms including Omics and Imaging, and provide a high-quality scientific, technological and medical environment. The project will involve a close collaboration with the Courchet team in Lyon (INMG, Lyon).

Candidates: We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated scientist holding a PhD and willing to join a challenging research area. Applicants are expected to have a strong background and proven track record in cell biology or developmental neurosciences. Experience in working with cellular/molecular biology, scRNA-Seq, microsurgeries in adult mice and in utero electroporations will be valuable. Expertise in sequencing data analysis would be helpful. English proficiency is mandatory (French is a plus). Strong communication skills, team spirit and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team are expected.
