The Movement Disorders Research Lab, Department of Neurology / Clinical Neurosciences, CHUV / University of Lausanne, offers a position of a PhD student for 3 years.
Our research objectives are to understand better the pathophysiology of movement disorders and to explore the novel therapeutic approaches with a focus on gait disorders and non-invasive brain stimulation. The Lab is fully-equipped with state-of-art TMS, tDCS-tACS, ENMG, EEG and combined EMG-EEG recordings, kinematic and gait analysis with inertial monitors and robotic devices, and neuro-navigation. We collaborate with a gait lab and have access to imaging facilities.
Current Project
The candidate will focus on an international multi-center therapeutic study of gait disorders in Parkinson’s disease and atypical Parkinson disorders and will participate in neurophysiological investigations of the pathophysiology.
Candidate requirements
The successful candidate must qualify to enter a PhD program and have a solid background in medicine, movement science, neurophysiology and/or neuroscience.
Ideally, an experience in clinical research with patients.
Being motivated, a team player and empathetic with our patients.
Good knowledge of French and English (German is an asset).
