The Research Group Neuroplasticity at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology in
Magdeburg (Germany) seeks a highly motivated
PhD student/doctoral student (f/m/d)
This post is for a 3–year fixed–term period with a salary of TV–L E13 (65%) starting as
soon as possible.
About the project: The successful candidate will perform research in the context of the
DFG–funded Research Unit ‘Syntophagy’ (FOR 5228) that aims to study membrane
trafficking processes underlying presynaptic proteostasis. The particular project RP3 is
dedicated to explore autophagy mechanisms primarily in dopaminergic terminals. We try
to understand how autophagy–related mechanism contribute to keeping the
neurotransmitter release machinery life–long functional and what are the pathological
consequences when these mechanisms fail.
Your profile
• completed university degree (master, diploma or similar qualification) in
neuroscience, biology, biochemistry or other relevant discipline
• interested in molecular and cellular brain research
• independent, self–reliant and dedicated style of work
