Description:

We study mouse behavior and personality using a system we developed that can continuously track the behavior of groups of mice. The system measures more than a hundred behaviors such as chases and exploration, as well as social structures such as dominance hierarchy. We have recently developed multiple paradigms to assess an animal’s positive emotional state in its home cage, and now want to use these paradigms to understand the biological mechanisms that underlie happiness.
