Description:

The newly-formed Lab of Epigenetics and Chromatin Dynamics, headed by Christopher Douse, is looking for a postdoc to lead projects on the mechanisms of chromatin regulation in human brain development. The position is available for 2 years in the first instance and can start as soon as we have found the right person. We review applications on an ongoing basis.

We have a particular interest in a several topics, including:

-understanding how improper regulation of chromatin may lead to neurodevelopmental disorders

-delineating mechanisms underpinning epigenetic control of transposable elements

Where is it based?

The lab is located in the Lund Stem Cell Center, Department of Experimental Medical Science, Lund, Sweden. The successful applicant would join a fun and dynamic scientific environment with plenty of opportunity for development, growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

You should be a kind, industrious and open-minded scientist with a PhD (or near completion of a PhD). The role would ideally suit a biochemist or cell biologist interested in chromatin, epigenetics and/or brain development. Your wet lab skills could include: protein biochemistry,  chromatin profiling methods (e.g. CUT&RUN, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq), structural biology, eukaryotic cell culture, proteomics, CRISPR.
