A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Miura lab in the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, CT, USA. The role of the postdoc will be to study the functional roles of alternative RNAs in neurons. The Miura lab uses cultured human and mouse cells along with Drosophila to investigate the function and regulation of alternative 3’ UTRs and circular RNAs in neurons. The lab employs CRISPR gene-editing and high throughput sequencing approaches such as long-read sequencing to study how RNA biogenesis events are linked.
The candidate should have an interest in RNA and gene regulation. Priority will be given to candidates with demonstrated research excellence and who are capable of implementing innovative approaches. The ideal candidate should have expertise in techniques used in genetics, molecular biology and neurobiology. Experience working with mammalian cell culture, or Drosophila preferred.
