The Ruhr University Bochum is a vibrant hub for multidisciplinary neuroscientific research (see: http://www.rd.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/neuro/index.html.en). The Department of Neurophysiology within the Medical Faculty, hosts a vibrant and talented team of neuroscientists from a variety of scientific backgrounds that implement multidisciplinary approaches to understanding the mechanisms underlying memory. Particular focus is on the mechanisms underlying acquisition and long-term retention of associative memory (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=manahan-vaughan).  English is the working language of the team.

A postdoctoral position is currently available for a candidate that has a strong background in the area of analysis of learning dynamics on the basis of  neuronal and/or rodent MRI-data. The position will be funded at the level of E13 (german salary system) for initially three years. The candidate should develop new data analysis strategies and develop algorithms for the scrutiny of synaptic and cortical plasticity and their role in information processing in the context of memory.
