Description:

Lecturers in Neuroscience x 2

Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have an established background in Neuroscience? Do you want to further your career in one of the UKs leading research intensive Universities?

A major objective for the School of Biomedical Science is to develop fundamental research discovering mechanisms of human disorders and unveiling, or implementing, pathways to intervention or rehabilitation. In particular, our researchers are focussing on diseases displaying neurological, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal degeneration or perturbation. We are currently recruiting two neuroscience lecturers with strong research portfolios in the areas including (but not limited to) the mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases and mental health, including those associated with ageing. Additional emphasis is on the application of cutting-edge research methodology to solving these biological problems. The appointees will benefit from interactions with our neuroscience team and its resources. Collaboration with interdisciplinary networks and the opportunity to translate fundamental research with teams in the Faculty of Medicine and Health or the School of Psychology are encouraged. The appointees would contribute to teaching on popular course topics in fundamental neuroscience, within our suite of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The University of Leeds and the Faculty of Biological Sciences are committed to providing equal opportunities for all and offer a range of family friendly policies. The University is a charter member of Athena SWAN (the national body that promotes gender equality in higher education), and the Faculty of Biological Sciences was awarded a Silver award in 2020.  We are proud to be an inclusive Faculty that values all staff, and are happy to consider job share applications and requests for flexible working arrangements from our employees.
