Funded postdoctoral fellowship is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Shana Augustin. The Augustin laboratory at Northwestern University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study the molecular mechanisms underlying synaptic transmission and its functional significance in the basal ganglia. This research will implement cutting-edge imaging techniques to examine neuronal modulation in ex vivo and in vivo experiments. Research experience in whole-cell patch clamp electrophysiology is desired. The position requires a PhD degree in neuroscience, cellular/molecular biology, or a relevant field of study.  The candidate is expected to work independently in a collaborative environment, once trained. Strong organizational skills are needed. This position is a full-time fully funded multi-year position that is immediately available. This position will remain open until filled.
