Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience is a research organisation fostered by the Basque Government that works in the field of neuron-glial cells interactions in health and disease. ACHUCARRO is located in Bilbao (Spain) and strives to unravel the role of glial cells in physiology, aging and in neurological disorders.

The Basque Government launched in 2021 the IKUR (Flagship) Strategy to further develop four strategic axis in our region, among them neurosciences.

This IKUR Strategy is based in collaboration among different entities of the Basque Country, in different scales of the R&D value chain, from basic research to innovation.

During 2023 we will be incorporating more than 10 postdoctoral fellows to work in collaboration project on molecular, cell, circuits and systems neuroscience.
