Description:

The Department of Neurophysiology, Institute of Physiology of the Eberhard Karls University Tuebingen
is offering a postdoc position for two years (with the possibility of an extension and tenure), TV-L E 13, 100 %, starting from 01.03.2023.

A Ph.D. in Biology/Medicine or a related discipline is required. Sound knowledge of Molecular Biology (ELISA, RNA-Seq, design/production of viruses, etc.) and/or (in vivo) calcium imaging including the corresponding analysis methods (Matlab) as well experience in AI/ data science will be appreciated.

The main institute’s research areas include:
– analysis of the interaction between the nervous and immune systems of the brain,
– priming and senescence of microglia,
– in vivo analysis of signal processing in the olfactory bulb,
– cellular/molecular basis of sleep-mediated learning,
– mechanisms of integration of adult stem cells in preexisting neural networks,
– normal brain aging and Alzheimer’s disease

The candidate is welcome to contribute to teaching in neurophysiology and to participate in the “Graduate School of Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience” or the Ph.D. program “Experimental Medicine”.
