The Clinic for Anesthesiology (RESEARCH GROUP CENTRAL RESPIRATORY CONTROL) of the University Medical Center Göttingen is looking for a

Postdoctoral Fellow (m/f/d) in neuroscience.

We use a multilevel approach to decipher the function of the respiratory network. Advanced tools to analyze neuronal and synaptic function are used including electrophysiology combined with two-photon-microscopy and optogenetics (Oke et al., Front. Physiol., 2019, Hülsmann et. al. J. Physiol. 2019; Hülsmann et al., Int. J. Mol. Sci., 2021). We also implemented or developed a range of transgenic mouse lines to clarify the function inhibitory neurons and astrocytes (Hirrlinger et al. Front Cell. Neurosci 2019; Mesuret et al, Sci. rep, 2018; Rahman et al., Brain Struct. Funct., 2015, Schnell et al., Brain Struct. Funct., 2015).

The position is available from 01.07.2021 on a full-time basis, initially for 2.5 years, with the possibility of prolongation. The salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.

Your profile: We are looking for highly motivated and science-driven candidate with a strong interest in neuroscience. It is expected that the candidate obtained a doctoral degree in neurobiology or neurophysiology. The ideal candidate has already gaining profound experimental experience and knowledge with whole-cell recordings in brain slices, optogenetics and fluorescent imaging.
