Description:

The group of Prof. Mario Prsa at the University of Fribourg (prsalab.org) is looking for Post-doctoral candidates to conduct research on neural mechanisms of forelimb sensorimotor adaptation and/or proprioceptive sensory processing.

Research:
Proprioception and sensorimotor adaptation are two physiological processes crucial for maintaining movement accuracy. The candidate will use state-of-the art behavioral, optogenetic, calcium imaging and advanced microscopy techniques to dissect the underlying neuronal circuits in the mouse brain.

Environment:
Our laboratory is part of the Department of Neuroscience and Movement Science within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Fribourg comprised of a vibrant scientific community including more than 20 multi-disciplinary research groups (www3.unifr.ch/med/de/research/researchgroups/).

Your profile:
Applicants should hold a PhD in Systems Neuroscience, be highly motivated and have excellent analytical, experimental and writing skills. Proficiency in data analysis, hardware programming and experimental control with Matlab is a requirement. Prior experience with rodent behavior, optogenetics and in-vivo imaging is preferred.

Funding:
The initial contract is for 2 years (funded by the SNSF) with a possibility of prolongation.
