The Zimmermann Lab is searching for an enthusiastic and hard-working PhD student in the neuroscience field to start as early as possible.

Subject: Oxaliplatin is an essential medicine in the treatment of neoplasms, but causes significant nerve damage and neuropathic pain. The translational PhD project seeks to validate gene variants discovered in mice for their potential neuroprotective and analgesic effects.
The project involves mouse behavioural experiments, neuron culture, electrophysiological techniques, immunohistochemistry, live cell calcium imaging, microscopy techniques, and many more.

An academic university degree (master or equivalent) in the field of neuroscience or a related life science field is required. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with exceptional interpersonal skills to work in a supportive, collaborative team environment. Successful applicants are passionate about conducting experiments and learning new techniques. Proficiency in English is a requirement.
