Description:
The project focuses on the interaction between axonal sodium channel dysfunctions in GABAergic interneurons and neuronal network activities using a mouse model of Dravet Syndrome, severe childhood epilepsy.
Research will mainly be performed using in vitro electrophysiological methods, including direct axonal recordings (Roth and Hu, 2020) and combined recordings of network oscillations (Roth et al., 2016), as well as imaging and histological techniques. The project involves local and international collaborators (Goldberg lab, USA; Draguhn lab, Germany), which contribute to the stimulating Neuroscience research environment in which the motivated PhD candidate will be able to conduct high quality research.
Starting date is preferably 01.09.2021 and no later than 01.11.2021.
Salary: NOK 482 200 – 526 000 per annum depending on qualifications in a position as PhD research fellow (position code 1017).
